I just checked this myself—and it worked! My windfall wasn’t huge, but for some people, it can truly be a massive amount of money.
Back when I used to be an Amazon Associate (that’s a full post for another day), I guess they couldn’t get my final payment to me. I made over $1,000 total with affiliate links, but my last paycheck was only $21.50. Because I moved or something, they couldn’t deliver it, and that money has been sitting in limbo with my state government as unclaimed property since 2025.
I finally checked the other day and claimed it! That small windfall will get me a nice 12-pack of fancy IPAs. It’s absolutely worth the check.
Head over to Unclaimed.org, select your state, and spend a few minutes searching for your property. I can’t promise you’ll find anything, but this one is always worth a shot—there’s pretty much no limit on the value you could be missing out on!
